At Core Children’s Services, we believe in supporting children and supporting families in the adoption process.

We understand that the greatest influence on a child or young person is the family with which they are surrounded, whether this is their birth family or their adoptive parents. And we therefore know that if we want to improve the outcomes of children who go through the adoption process, we must work to support everyone involved.

Supporting adoptive families in the adoption process

Our team of experienced professionals work closely with and provide support to the families adopting children and young people. We provide emotional support through our therapeutic services and counselling, as well as financial support and training to help in the everyday aspects of adoption.

By offering our own expertise to adoptive families, we can help them to ensure the child has the best chance of progressive development and a healthy mental attitude, despite the potential effects of family displacement through adoption.

Encouraging positive outcomes in adoption for birth families

Core Children’s Services works to support the birth families of adopted children. We encourage direct and indirect contact wherever appropriate and offer our own neutral spaces for birth families to visit children. Together with our trained support workers, birth families can learn how to make a positive contribution to the life of their child and encourage healthy development and positive outcomes.
