Therapy Services

At Core Children’s Services, we believe in actively addressing the therapeutic needs of children and families across the UK.

Our therapy services are provided by psychologists and psychotherapists who are trained in a wide variety of disciplines. We work closely with young people and families to provide therapeutic support through one-on-one sessions and group activities.

Supporting children’s development

Core Children’s Services offers therapy to support young people who are undergoing difficulties as a result of family disruption or breakdown. Our therapists work closely with young people with a variety of needs, including:

• Children who display difficult behaviours
• Children who are distressed
• Children whose families are going through divorce
• Children who have been adopted
• Children who have been placed in foster care

It is not uncommon for the young people we work with to display disruptive or inappropriate behaviours as a result of their experiences; our therapists have the expertise to recognise and address these issues.

The aim of our therapy service for children is to help them express their thoughts and connect their feelings with their behaviour. We hope to be able to improve the outcomes of these children, preventing family disruption from having a negative impact on their development.

Supporting families and parents

By delivering therapeutic support, Core Children’s Services seeks to promote the emotional wellbeing of parents and families.

Our therapists provide expert consultation, training and therapeutic support to the following:

• Parents/carers of children who have experienced abuse
• Parents/carers of children who display challenging behaviour
• Families are going through a separation or divorce
• Families of children being taken into adoption or foster care

Core Children’s Services also offers therapeutic training and advice for young families and parents of new children through our Early Interventions programme.

Therapy training for partners and professionals

In order to share our knowledge and expertise, Core Children’s Services provides therapeutic training for professionals who work with young people. We partner with Local Authorities, courts and individual professionals to provide expert consultation around managing difficult behaviours and caring for complex needs.
