Attachment training for schools

Within an educational environment, children and young people can exhibit unusual or disruptive behaviour as a result of attachment difficulties. At Core Children’s Services, we deliver attachment training for schools where teachers and support staff are trained to cope with and understand these behaviours.

Our aim is to help promote awareness of attachment difficulties, encourage the support of children and young people, and ultimately improve their emotional well-being.

Background

Core Children’s Services is committed to improving the emotional well-being of young people. We understand the impact on this caused by attachment difficulties, which affects the lives of children who have experienced loss, trauma or abuse, or who have faced substantial or frequent changes.

Delivering Attachment training for schools

Core Children’s Services is built on a strong foundation of expertise and experience in Education and Children’s Services. We offer this collective knowledge to schools and support staff across the UK in order to improve the progress, academic attainment, attendance or behaviour of young people who are experiencing challenges as a result of attachment difficulties.

Attachment training from Core Children’s Services outlines some of the challenging behaviours presented in children and young people and discusses how their experiences can affect or hinder their educational outcomes. The course offers teachers and support staff a comprehensive overview of attachment theory and how negative early relationships can affect the social, emotional and educational wellbeing of children.

Attachment training for schools in the UK

Outcomes for vulnerable children in foster care and education are currently under inspection and review in the UK. As part of the government’s commitment to raise standards for vulnerable children, inspectors in England and Wales will be asking schools to produce evidence on how they meet the needs of looked after children and young people.

Attachment training for schools from Core Children’s Services can provide this evidence, ensuring that all staff in contact with looked after children and young people are specially trained to appreciate and support their unique needs.
