At Core Children’s Services, we believe in intervening early and using preventative measures. By working closely with families and communities, through early interventions, we aim to resolve issues before children are potentially excluded from school or taken into care.
We deliver early interventions wherever these measures serve as more disruptive than progressive to a young person’s development.
We understand that caring for children and young people who demonstrate behavioural difficulties is no easy task. When families or parents struggle to cope with disruptive acts and difficult attitudes, alternative care can become a serious consideration.
For some young people, however, being taken into care is not an appropriate measure and can be prevented with the right kind of support.
In cases when parents feel or demonstrate that they are unable to cope, we can offer early intervention services that may help to prevent care orders from taking place. With therapeutic support, mentoring and by helping to resolve behavioural issues together, Core Children’s Services can help to prevent family disruption wherever possible.
Children and young people can experience difficulties at school. This may include disengagement from learning, poor progress or attainment, underachievement, bullying and adverse peer pressure. In some cases young people are at risk of exclusion as a result of disaffected or challenging behaviour.
By offering education and/or tuition support, mentoring and the option of alternative education, we work with children and young people help them make progress and improve their outcomes.
