Core Children’s Services provides a fully integrated and effective Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP), based on the therapeutic approach of the Domestic Violence Intervention Project.
DVPP is part of a range of targeted services that contribute to a preventative approach, minimising the escalation of difficulties and risks which can lead to family breakdown.
To ensure the maximum effectiveness of DVPP, Core Children’s Services embraces an inter-agency approach, working closely with appropriate statutory and non-statutory agencies. This ensures that risk is managed, keeping women and children safe.
As part of DVPP, Core Children’s Services provides a Women’s Support Service for victims of domestic violence.
DVPP involves a programme of group work to change the behaviour of men who are violent or abusive to partners or ex-partners. The primary focus of DVPP is to increase the safety of women, children and young people.
DVPP groups provide a safe place to discuss preventative behaviour for:
We support ways of holding perpetrators accountable for violence or abuse and therefore we do not work with men who are currently awaiting the outcome of a criminal justice process for violence they have committed.
DVPP groups are run by 2 (1 male and 1 female) fully trained and frequently supervised workers.
Currently operating in Leeds and Derby, Core Children’s Services is committed to delivering our Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP) to address domestic violence in further regions across the UK.
