Women's Support Service for victims of domestic violence

Core Children’s Services’ Women’s Support Service is for all women whose partners or ex-partners are on the Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP).

We are aware of the inherent difficulties of offering this service and our primary aim is to increase the safety of women and children. Our staff maintain complete confidentiality in all cases, unless this conflicts with a child’s safety.

Levels of support for victims of domestic violence

Core Children’s Services make contact with all women whose partners attend the DVPP and offer as much or as little support as they are comfortable with. We aim to provide a support service that fits around their needs.

Depending upon the requirements of the individual, support for victims of domestic violence can include:

  • Phone calls
  • Email correspondence
  • Information packs sent by post
  • Individual face to face contact
  • Peer support groups
