Targeted Intervention

Core Children’s Services provides an intensive Targeted Intervention programme, using our knowledge and expertise to support troubled families.

Our Targeted Intervention model addresses the needs of families affected by problems such as substance misuse, unemployment, mental health issues, domestic violence or crime and helps to facilitate family re-engagement and recovery.

What is Targeted Intervention?

Targeted Intervention is part of Core Children’s Services’ extensive range of Family Support Services. The programme involves 12 weeks of intensive support, reducing over time as a family gains control of their situation. Support is delivered by a highly skilled team who work with families and other professionals whose aim is to initiate and perpetuate a significant change.

Core Children’s Services Targeted Interventions programme consists of an integrated service package, including:

  • The evidenced Triple P programme (enhanced level 4) supports the most complex family cases on an individual basis, combined with brief solution focused therapy
  • Family Group Conferencing helps families define some of their own solutions
  • Access to professional advice from Core Children’s Services therapists and education staff

Delivering Targeted Interventions

Throughout the Targeted Intervention programme, a fully qualified Social Worker will act as the case manager to manage risk and review the programme on a weekly/bi weekly basis, as appropriate. A dedicated key worker will also be identified to provide a robust package of needs led support directly to the family.

Through a ‘joined up’ multi agency strategy, Core Children’s Services will promote family re-engagement, setting out clear review and target setting processes with all families in order to identify outcomes and measure progress.

What can we do for you?

Core Children’s Services works with Local Authorities across the UK to provide families with the skills they need to become self-sufficient, therefore potentially helping to reduce a reliance on government support services.

Our aim is to promote the ongoing welfare of families from within the family itself and to ensure that, wherever appropriate, the right environment is being fostered within the home. Wherever possible, we want to empower families to take control and potentially prevent such further measures as foster care or youth justice intervention.
