Local Authority Fostering Services Training

Core Children’s Services works with Local Authority fostering services to improve the quality of care provided, enhance foster carer skills and increase placement stability.

Supporting Local Authorities

Through our therapeutic training for fostering services, we are helping Local Authorities to:

• Achieve fewer placement breakdowns
• Reduce the number of children who require placement out of authority
• Develop foster carers’ skills to enable the transfer of external placements in-house

Core Children’s Services offers therapeutic training and support to achieve these ends. We provide a ‘menu’ from which each commissioning Local Authority is able to choose which interventions are required to suit the needs of their fostering services.

We also offer Networking and Consultation Services for Local Authorities to encourage child care and social work specialists to work together more effectively.

Fostering services training and support
