Grenfell Support Service

About this project

The Grenfell Support Service is a not for profit partnership set up to support individuals and families affected by the fire at Grenfell Towers on 14th June 2017.

An initial Keywork Service was introduced in the immediate days following the tragedy, delivered mainly through a professional social work response. The Council listened to feedback from residents and the suggestion is that this now needs the additional capacity of an Intensive Support Service, delivered flexibly, including advocacy, practical help, a listening ear and responsive support to individual and family needs.

Grenfell Support Service recognises the unprecedented trauma and loss of this tragedy and is committed to providing the highest quality service to those affected.

This new support service will focus on human beings not processes, minimising bureaucracy and removing barriers to people getting the right help when they need it.

What can individuals and families expect from the Grenfell Support Service?

Local residents will be able to access a trained Support Worker who will provide emotional and practical support, advocacy and liaison with other services as appropriate. Practical help will be offered such as accompanying someone to an appointment, shopping and childcare. The Support Worker will take time to listen to what someone needs.

Each resident or family will have a named dedicated worker who they can contact directly, and who will visit when and where it is convenient.

This can include weekends, early morning and up to 8pm in the evening if needed.  Individuals and families will know when they can expect to see their worker, as well as having emergency contact details should they need them.

Want to know more?

If you are a resident affected by the disaster and you are interested in receiving regular support from the Grenfell Support Service, in the first instance please contact the Care for Grenfell team on 020 7745 6414, or email careforgrenfell@rbkc.gov.uk

If you are from an organisation or body and have a general enquiry about the service please contact support@grenfellsupportservice.co.uk
